This is to be read in the Paris press “Weary of the dust raised on Sundays by cars, Parisians endeavour to go back to rowing” . This gives new life to the Seine banks to the extent that they are Henceforth know as “Rueil Beach”.
In the 1920’s , after being Neglected as such, Mr. Giquel, ship builder and restaurant owner, undertakes a scheme to rehabilitate them for the public. This gives rise to important regattas with are organized in the period between the two world wars, it was not unusual to come across Mistinguet canoeing with friends.
