Nearby Malmaison is the Bois Préau, nestled in a 18 hectares park where rare plants are grown. It is reminiscent of Napoleon’s captivity at Saint Helena and the transfer of this ashes to Paris ( for Anglo-Saxon public maybe pert CF Invalides).
Many personal objects, which belonged to Napoleon when he was exiled at Saint-Helena, are displayed here give an idea of his psychological state and are somewhat moving.
The Chateau du Bois Préau is at present closed for renovation but in the future should be organizing exhibitions temporary on the ground floor, combined with a relaxation space and restaurant facilities in the park’s orangerie.
