About : Exhibition "Napoleon's great army"

Nicolas Renard is the only French painter living to devote his work to the Napoleonic world. Present in the permanent collection of the Marmottan Library, he exhibited in many of the emblematic places of the Imperial History: Brienne-le-Château, Ajaccio, Rambouillet...

In June, he is present at the 20th Salon des Peintres des Armées (Hôtel des Invalides) and about twenty of his watercolors are reproduced in the book of Éditions Quatuor sur Waterloo. This elder of the 11th Chasseur on horseback, a merry-go-round and a blacksmith, was lulled by the "cahiers" of Jean-Baptiste-Auguste Barrès (his great-grandfather) and then by Marbot, Parquin, Brack etc...

On the occasion of the 4th Jubilee of Napoleon, this self-taught artist tries to share the daily life of 20 years of history seen by the soldier large or small.
