Napoleon I and Napoleon III, both led a sustained artistic policy putting artists
to contribution for the glory of the regime and, more generally, France. The Empire style is at the service of its grandeur. The exhibition “Art at the service of power: Napoleon I‑Napoleon III”, proposes an unprecedented approach that allows the visitor to re‑read the extraordinary careers of these two emperors, but also to revisit the art of the nineteenth century. With loans from the Musée d’Orsay, the château de Malmaison, the Palais de Compiègne, the Mobilier National, as well as the partnership with the Napoléon Fondation.
