Nights of Vert-Mont

About : Nights of Vert-Mont

The emergence of jazz, radio, talking cinema, surrealist avant-garde with Breton, Eluard, Aragon and painters Max Ernst, Miro, Dali or Picabia, Paris became the capital of the arts and the Montparnasse district symbolized this renewal.

The American influence is great: in music with jazz, in the cinema with the beginnings of Hollywood, in literature with Hemingway and Fitzgerald who settle in Paris.

Edward Tuck receives in his field of Vert-Mont politicians and diplomats. There are several preparatory meetings for the Covenant of the League of Nations.

In order to revive these crazy years, the Ville de Vert-Mont welcomes four evening shows and a large exhibition on Marie Vassilieff, a painter, decorator, Russian costumer, a pupil of Matisse, who included among her friends Cocteau, Paul Poiret, Picasso , Joséphine Baker or Man Ray.
