About : Exhibition Betrand Runtz

Bertrand Runtz was born in Paris in 1963, under the Butte Montmartre.

After having started by working with young people in a neighborhood center, then as a professional photographer, in 2005 he published his first remarkable novel. Selected for the Roblès prize, it will subsequently be picked up.

Since then, alternating between short stories and novels, he has published six other books in which he has devoted himself to directing, with humor at times cruel but never devoid of humanity, the ordinary tragedies of existence and its little pleasures.

Along with his work as a writer, he continues to work as a sculptor by taking books destined for the scrap as raw material, thus creating poetic universes that show what is between the lines.

A kind of invitation to move to the other side of the page...
Sculptures which he then photographs in order to tell yet another story in history, also a way for him to recall the etymological meaning of photography: "to write with light".

The exhibition Pattes de mouches is an opportunity for him to present this complete universe around the book: sculptures and photographs.

In addition, eager to extend his artistic vision through a real human encounter, he offers two sculpture-book workshops during the exhibition...
