About : Exhibition Graffitis

31 graffiti, 31 traces, testimonies of the repressive policies put in place during the German occupation and the routes of engagement. All these courses, although different, converge in the "chapel of the shots", final stage before the executions.

This first temporary exhibition, held at the Mont-Valérien memorial, is dedicated to these testimonies, exceptional memorial, heritage, historical and deeply revealing objects of who these men were, their individual beliefs and their collective commitments. Sensitive and unique objects, graffiti say both the hopes and beliefs of those who fought on the side of life and are indicative of the organization of repression and racial persecution.

The few graffiti that remain today in the chapel of Mont-Valérien are all testimonies left by the convicts, written shortly before their execution. Thus, some resistance fighters and hostages left us a last message in a place deprived of witnesses.

Through this first temporary exhibition it is the diversity of the routes that we wanted to make, the specificity of Mont-Valérien that we wanted to describe, and the last trace of life of the victims of this place without witness that we wanted to put in the honor and save. Thematic visits devoted to the exhibition are organized every Saturday at 11am.
