Exhibition at château de Malmaison from 9 October 2019 to 6 January 2020
We forget, perhaps all too often, that the Château de Malmaison is not only the former elegant residence of Empress Joséphine, but also a national museum devoted to Bonaparte, before the Empire was proclaimed, and the Napoleonic legend. It is the latter aspect that the Château de Malmaison wished to highlight by presenting for three months a painting by the American artist Kehinde Wiley, directly inspired by the most famous of the museum,Bonaparte Crossing The "Great St Bernard Pass" (Bonaparte franchissant le col du Grand Saint-Bernard) by Jacques-Louis David.
