About : Giquel House
Located along the Seine near the bridge Railway, Guinguette Giquel reached its peak in the interwar period. Many personalities of the moment, as Mistinguett 'frequent this tavern and sailing on the Seine with their friends. Our banks of the Seine are called "Rueil-Beach"; Rowing races and major regattas are organized. The restaurant grows, led by Adolphe Giquel diversifying its activities: renting rooms, Sunday dances, construction and boat rental ... His son Henry will take over until the sale of the restaurant in 1951, a company that occupies the site until 1980. a lot of the buildings of the tavern is destroyed during this period. The Guinguette Giquel existing today on the towpath, since renamed Quai Adolphe Giquel, then welcomed the restaurant.
