About : The Museum of Local History
The rich history of Rueil-Malmaison is to be discovered in this museum installed in the building of the old town hall.
Organized by theme, each room brings together objects evoking the past and the influence of the town. You can also admire exceptional works such as the Egyptian mummy of the Ptolemaic era, or the monumental painting by Maurice Orange, Bonaparte in Egypt contemplating the mummy of a King.
"Musée de France", the establishment takes part in national events such as the Night of Museums or the European Heritage Days, and holds several temporary exhibitions each year.
The museum offers numerous educational workshops accessible free of charge to schoolchildren to discover the collections, the history of Rueil-Malmaison and the conservation professions. Specific activities are also offered during temporary exhibitions.
