About : The banks of the Seine
The history of Rueil-Malmaison would not be complete without evoking the
banks of the Seine. Immortalized during the 19th century by impressionist painters such as Monet, Renoir, Turner, Corot, Sisley and Berthe Morisot who painted several of their most famous works there, this region was made one of the hot-spots of Impressionism.
Walkers have enjoyed strolls in this area since the 19th century, all curious to discover boating and open-air cafés. The banks of the Seine now offer more than 3 hectares of walkways lined with weeping willows, from Gennevilliers to Bougival, a privileged path designed to delight pedestrians and cyclists alike.
